FreeStar5G Outdoor Antenna 28GHz mmWave Beam-steering Antenna
The FreeStar5G is a mm-wave beam-steering antenna with linear phased-array. With a high gain, a narrow beamwidth for coverage in 360 degrees. The FreeStar integrated antenna solution for use cases such as 5G Ka-band fixed access wireless gateways.
The small size and low profile of the FreeStar, coupled with an extremely lightweight structure makes it suitable for integration in different types of customer device environments. It employs beam-steering at the RF level using the RF phase and amplitude shifters, or beamforming networks.
• Ultra-fast beam switching without complex electronics
• Low power, low profile, full coverage with a single unit
• “Find and Follow” software tracks mobile users

Introducing FreeFall 5G's FreeStar Antenna Features

FreeFall 5G is the collaboration between ED2 and FreeFall.
These Tucson-based companies are focused on developing low-cost 5G antenna systems that will revolutionize mmWave connectivity.
ED2 Corp was founded in 2007 and focused on marine radio wireless applications and R&D Solutions. The company strong history of innovative solutions for alert wireless systems using state-of-the-art sensors. In 2018, the company was purchased by Sergio Cardona, CEO, and shifted focus to next-generation wireless products. ED2 has built up an elite team and can solve engineering challenges that others find too challenging. The team has extensive expertise in RF radio, radar, software, and wireless systems; and holds numerous patents in RF technology.

FreeFall Aerospace is developing revolutionary new antenna technology for ground, air, and space. The company’s unique antennas for the coming 5G wireless world are unlike anything else on the market and enable high-frequency, steerable communications for Smart Cities, connected vehicles, and the Internet of Things. FreeFall was founded in Tucson as a spin-off from the University of Arizona and maintains a close connection with UA faculty and supporters.
